Japan verlängert seine Sanktionen gegen Nordkorea. Die am 13. April auslaufenden Strafmassnahmen würden zwei Jahre fortgesetzt, gab die Regierung in Tokio am Dienstag bekannt.

Japan will damit den Druck auf Nordkorea aufrechterhalten, einen überfälligen Untersuchungsbericht über Entführungen von Japanern durch nordkoreanische Agenten in den 1970er und -80er Jahren vorzulegen.
